HLTH 2 FIRST AID AND SAFETY (3 Units)
This course is designed to prepare citizen responders with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to emergency and first-aid situations. First aid,
CPR, and AED for adults, children and infants are included in this course. Students will be eligible to take American Red Cross certification exams upon
successful completion of each respective content area.

Provides training for bilingual individuals to develop awareness, knowledge, and skills necessary for effective language interpretation in health care
settings. Foundation for students in the Healthcare Interpreter Certificate Program and the basis for the trilogy of courses required. The roles and
responsibilities of a healthcare interpreter, basic knowledge of common medical conditions, treatments and procedures and a need for insight in
language and cultural nuances for specific communities.
