This course will focus on intermediate-level hand building of ceramic art. The techniques of coil, slab, and other hand construction methods will be

explored and refined. The history of hand built ceramics from various cultures will be introduced as a path to self-expression in ceramics.

This course involves the production of individual work under supervision of instructor in a specialized area. It may include ceramics, commercial art,

digital imaging, drawing, design, sculpture, printmaking, painting or photography. During the first week of the semester, student enrolling must present

an appropriate project based upon skills learned in other art courses.

PREREQUISITES: Art 7 or 9 or 10 or 13 or 30A or 37A or 38. (A, CSU)
