Peters Honors Program The Leon S. Peters Honors Program offers an enhanced educational experience designed to challenge students with a specially selected curriculum. The focus of the honors curriculum is on preparation for transfer to a four-year institution. Taking part in an honors program enhances your transcript, improves your opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university, enables you to develop closer relationships with instructors, and helps you explore your interests more deeply. Honors program students receive many benefits including priority registration, special transfer counseling, recognition on transcripts, and unique field trips. The following criteria are used to determine eligibility for the program: Eligibility for English 1A and at least one of the following: • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 • Graduation in the top 25 percentile of your high school class • Completed SCCCD College Instructor Recommendation Form. First Year Experience (FYE) The FYE Program was designed especially for the first time college student, to assist in the transition from high school to the campus community. Starting college can be a confusing and stressful time. FYE will assist and support students during the first semester and beyond. Library - Learning Resources Center The Clovis Community College Library is located in AC2-148 and offers a wide array of resources and services to students, faculty, and staff. Study rooms are available for quiet or group study sessions and a large reading area provides comfortable seating with work tables. Computers, laptops, and tablets allow research activity, word processing, and presentation software programs. The library collection offers print resources including books, magazines, journals, and newspapers, as well as an E-book collection. There is a DVD collection of informational, literary and dramatic films as well as an audio book collection of fiction and nonfiction works. Research databases provide access to reference sources, articles from academic journals, magazines, and newspapers, literary criticism, streaming media, images, and more. The databases and E-book collection are accessible on and off campus, as is the library’s online catalog which allows students and staff to locate and request print items from all our district libraries. Printers and a copy machine offer color and black and white printing at 25 cents and 10 cents a page. One- on-one reference and research assistance is always available. Psychological Services Psychological Services is an integrated program within Health Services designed to serve students who are experiencing stress or other emotional difficulties. Frequently, these difficulties can affect a student’s ability to function effectively in social, academic, or work settings. To assist students in overcoming these challenges, we offer individual brief therapy and group therapy.
