PRACTICAL SPANISH CONVERSATION,
HIGH-INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
3 units, 3 lecture hours, (Pass/No Pass)
PREREQUISITES: Spanish 3 or the equivalent
skill level as determined by instructor. ADVISORIES:
Eligibility for English 125 and 126.
Spanish conversational skills for students at
an intermediate level of language proficiency are further
developed. Oral communication and listening comprehension
are emphasized. Some reading and writing skills are developed.
Designed to improve oral expression and fluency in Spanish
as used in travel, at home, in school, at work, and in business.
Communication skills will be utilized to help bridge cultural
and linguistic barriers and to increase understanding of
Hispanic cultures. (A, CSU-GE, UC)

ADVISORIES: Eligibility for English 125 and 126.
Practical introduction to situational Spanish for the
professional based on actual case studies. Provides the student
with the specific vocabulary, terminology, and cultural insight.
Sections offered for the health professions, law enforcement,
commercial areas, social work, and public schools personnel.

ADVISORIES: English 125 and 126.
The use of probability techniques, hypothesis
testing, and predictive techniques to facilitate decision-
making. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and
sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and
linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-square and t-tests;
and application of technology for statistical analysis including
the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings.
Applications using data from disciplines including business,
social sciences, psychology, life science, health sscience, and
