This course covers the principles and laws of inorganic chemistry with an emphasis on quantitative, mathematical problem- solving. Topics included in the course are atoms, molecules and ions formulas and equations stoichiometry gas laws electronic structure of atoms bonding atomic orbital and molecular orbital theories solutions precipitation reactions oxidation reduction reactions introduction to acids and bases thermochemistry properties of liquids solids and crystal structures solution behavior colligative properties associated laboratory experiments and volumetric and gravimetric analysis methods.
