Instruction will cover media and movements. Students will also learn the elements and principles of design to understand the visual language of the arts and the methods used by artists to communicate ideas to the public. This course emphasizes the structure of the human body and the functional interrelationships of the body’s systems: integument, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, reproductive, and genetics. These principles include emphasizing the key role of relationships, constructive adult-child interactions, and teaching strategies in supporting physical, social, creative and intellectual development for children. This course includes a review of the historical roots of early childhood programs and the evolution of the professional practices promoting advocacy, ethics and professional identity.
