314 SPRING 2019 CLASS SCHEDULE OFFICE TECHNOLOGY OT 1 COMPUTER BASICS (1.5 Units) This course provides students with an introduction to basic computer skills for the office worker. It introduces computer hardware and software, including the use of a mouse and a keyboard, as well as an introduction to the windows operating system. Word processing and spreadsheet software will be introduced. Students will access the Internet and perform basic searches. It will be organized around these three objectives: safe performance of activity, appropriateness of activity for each individual, and the importance of the activity. Among the topics discussed are individual political attitudes and values, political participation, voting, parties, interest groups, Congress, the presidency, Supreme Court, the federal bureaucracy, civil liberties and civil rights, and domestic and foreign policy making.
