Upon completion of the A.S. degree, a student possesses the course work required to work as a teacher in both private and public early care and education settings serving preschool-age children. Upon Completion of the Child Development Certificate of Achievement the student possesses the coursework required to work as a teacher in both a private or public early care and education setting serving preschool-age children. Additionally, with appropriate documented work experience, the student is eligible to apply for the California Child Development Permit through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing at the Associate Teacher level.
