Clovis Community College – Spring 2018 Class Schedule 154 Notes: *Courses listed above in more than one location will only be counted one time except for courses in Language Other Than English, which can be certified in Areas 3B and 6.  To graduate from a CSU a U.S. Government (including California) course (POLSCI 2 or 2H) and a U.S History course (HIST 11, 12,12H, or 22) must be completed  Fresno City College(FCC) and Reedley College (RC) courses may satisfy requirements differently than Clovis CommunityCollege courses. See the FCC and RC IGETC Worksheet or go to http://www.assist.org for courses completed at RC, FCC, and otherCalifornia Community Colleges.  Completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) will permit student to transfer from a California Community College to a California State University (CSU) or University of California (UC) campus generally withoutthe need, after transfer, to take additional lower-division, general education courses to satisfy campus general education requirements.It is strongly recommended that students complete IGETC prior to transfer. Advantages of completing IGETCinclude more flexibility in class selection at the university and timely progress to degree completion. All UC and CSU campuseswill accept the completed IGETC to satisfy all lower-division general education requirements. However, individual colleges ormajors within a CSU or UC campus may not accept IGETC for meeting general education.  A list of those UC colleges and majors is found on the following website :http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/transfer-admission-matrix.pdf  Students transferring to a CSU with a completed IGETC will still need to complete 9 semester units of upper- division generaleducation (GE) after transfer and may be held to other campus specific graduation requirements outside of general education andmajor coursework. Credit by External Exams There is no limit on the number of external exams that can be applied to IGETC. External exams may be used regardless of when the exam was taken. Advanced Placement (AP)  A score of 3, 4, or 5 is required to grant credit for IGETC certification. An acceptable AP score for IGETC equates toeither 3 semester or 4 quarter units for certification purposes. Each AP exam may be applied to one IGETC area assatisfying one course requirement, with the exception of Language other Than English (LOTE).
